Crossing Animation Boundaries: China Pavilion Set for Dazzling Annecy Debut

Running from June 10 to 13, the Annecy International Animation Film Market (Mifa), bridging cultures through animation, will welcome a China Pavilion this year. Organized by China Animation Association, the China Pavilion will present outstanding Chinese animation entities, including CCTV Animation Group, Zoland Animation, Fantawild International, Hangzhou Younuo Animation, School of Animation and Digital Arts of Communication University of Zhejiang and China International Cartoon and Animation Festival, showcasing the achievements of China’s animation industry and promoting international exchanges and cooperation in the animation industry.

On June 12, the China Pavilion will present the China Outstanding Animation Showcase featuring Eastern aesthetics. Attendees will discover 14 excellent Chinese animated works spanning a wide range of themes, including intangible cultural heritage crafts depicted with delicate brushwork, majestic landscapes painted with ink wash, genuine warmth conveyed from a parent-child perspective and the heritage of Chinese civilization expressed in epic narratives. Each of those works is an epitome of the talent and wisdom of creators and showcases the unique charm and creative power of Chinese animation. The showcase will be followed by the Networking Cocktail Hour, when like-minded animators can chat with each other more casually, exchanging creative experiences, sharing industry insights, facilitating cooperation and building a bridge of friendship connecting Eastern and Western cultures.
