Creator of outstanding fiction and documentaries, Avenida’s productions have been applauded across Canada and around the world. Prime among them are three seasons of Jenny, which garnered a slew of prizes, including a Kidscreen Award and 4 Gemeaux and was nominated for the International Emmy Kids Award and the Rose d’Or. Among Avenida’s fiction features, The Vinland Club was an official selection at numerous festivals, including Beijing and São Paulo, and won three Iris Awards, including best performance by an actor/leading role. The documentary Balance Point won the Prix des détenus—RIDM and was officially selected by the Brooklyn Film Festival and the Chicago International Children’s Film Festival. Avenida is currently producing two new documentary series: Secrets de Villages, showing on Historia in October, and Splash, currently in post-production. Trading on its success with Jenny, Avenida is currently developing an adaptation of the series for the English-speaking market.
