Onza Distribution’s catalog is led by the crime drama Neuer, based on Václav Neuer’s detective novels. The series stars Slovak actor Marián Miezga as a chief inspector whose team tackles everyday crimes, with each case pushing them to their limits. Each episode is based on one of Neuer’s novels, all of which are rooted in real criminal cases, allowing the show to deliver a gripping procedural drama while tapping into the success of true crime.
Neuer has been nominated for best TV film or miniseries at the Sun in the Net Awards, presented by the Slovak Film and Television Society (SFTA) and widely recognized as one of the highest honors in Slovak film and TV. As one of only three titles selected in this category, Neuer stands alongside major theatrical and international productions, reinforcing its growing industry recognition.
Produced by KFS Production, the series initially debuted in Slovakia on TV JOJ and became the most-watched show of its premiere night with a 24 percent audience share.
The series has also achieved strong audience results internationally. Premiering in the Czech Republic on Česká televize with close to 1 million viewers, Neuer marked a rare milestone for a Slovak-originated drama broadcast in its original language. In its initial weeks on air, the series ranked second in its time slot, competing against a high-budget production on a leading private channel, while maintaining consistent and stable viewership.
Following this strong reception, a second season of Neuer was ordered and is currently in development. With critical recognition and solid ratings, the series continues to position itself among the most successful Central European dramas in recent years.
